Setting up Sales: 4 Tips For Real Estate Professionals

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 03 October 2017 15:26

After the housing market crashed about ten years ago, the number of real estate agents dropped to a fraction of what it once was. Today, however, the number of real estate professionals has risen almost to the amount before the crash. If you want to compete in today’s market, want to increase your exposure and close more deals, there are a few tips to follow that will help you accomplish this goal.

Get a Good Mentor

Having a mentor, regardless of your industry, is just good business sense, and real estate is no exception. The real estate broker that you choose can have a big impact on your business. The commission split will vary from broker to broker, but it is just as important, if not more, to focus on the other services offered by the broker.

Take into account prospect leads, what expenses the broker covers, and what kind of training they provide. A good mentor can provide you with tricks of the trade that you may not learn on your own, like negotiating procedures and sales and marketing training.

Build Your Book of Business

Any good business owner that wants to grow their brand, is going to constantly work toward growing their book of business. The key to doing this is getting organized. Create a master list of all the people you know, and organize it by how you know them. Develop your pitch and send it out to your entire list the way you usually make contact with them. As you go day-to-day, get involved with your community, talk to people, and hand out your business cards. Make a plan to follow up with everyone every so often, and then actually do it.

Maintain a Website and Social Media

Despite what some people say, it is nearly impossible to do business in today’s world and not have a website or social media accounts. Consumers tend to research people and companies on social media before doing any kind of business with them. You can create a website and several social media accounts for little to no expense, and you can easily develop your marketing on social media and grow your website’s traffic, which could potentially lead to more sales.

Work with a Neighborhood Development Business

As a real estate professional and business owner, you need to be able to set yourself apart from your competition. A great way to do this is to work with a contractor like EXR who develops an entire neighborhood at once. By doing this, you can become the expert in the area and your business will increase.

If you want to increase your exposure and close more deals as a real estate professional, you should get a good mentor, work on building your book of business, maintain a website, and consider working with a neighborhood development.
