Simple Repair for a Garage Door That Goes Right Back up Every Time

Written by Posted On Sunday, 22 October 2017 02:20

A garage door that goes right back as soon as it hits the ground is a major problem. If you are encountering this type of issue, the solution is to adjust the down travel limit. You don’t want to over adjust the limit because it will also interfere with the safe and proper operation of the system.
If your door opener has a screw type adjustment, you will need a flat screwdriver to have it adjusted. Look for the down travel limit screw on the opener motor head and turn it ¼ turn clockwise. If your door opener is a newer model, you can adjust it by tapping the “Set Limit” button beside the force adjustment screws.
Open your garage door fully with the use of the remote control and then close it again. The problem should be resolved. If not, continue making the small adjustments as necessary. You may ask assistance from your local garage door service provider if the issue persists.
