House painting is one of the many things a person can do at home without having to pay for extra cost of labor. For best results one should know the basic tips that can help him/her to paint his/her house. Akron Painters have always been a friendly face and to help you further we are providing you with 7 tips you can use to paint your house better if you wish to do it yourself.

1) One go with wet edges:

One thing that usually occurs is the visible stripes that are a result of uneven layers of paint or insufficient volume. To make sure no stripes are seen keep the corners of your rollers wet this will be beneficial when the previous stroke which is still wet is coated by wet edges such that dry paint doesn’t come in the way. This will get the desired output and taking your roller down in one go will also add to the smoothness.

2) Consistency:

Consistency of color is difficult to maintain if you use new bucket only after the previous one is finished since there is a possibility of a little variation. To have a consistent color throughout the room you must mix all the paint in one bucket and use the paint from it to color your home.

3) Cutting of the tape:

The tape should be cut only after the paint is dry and when it is don’t just rip it off but first cut the paint to unlink it from the paint and then only take the tape off at a 45 degree angle. This will give a smooth edge.

4) Order:

The order in which you paint is important. The order which most professionals follow is where they paint the trim first then the ceilings and lastly the wall. This allows the trim to be painted with least concentration as the mess can be covered with the painting of the wall.

5) Prime:

To save a little money people skip priming which results in blotchy walls. When you fill up an old hole and don’t prime it the hole absorbs the paint and when light shines upon it the paint looks dull in the area. To avoid this use a primer which seals the patch and the paint no longer gets absorbed.

6) Cleaning:

Cleaning prior to painting is important. Don’t assume that the paint will cover the dirty spots. The dirt will not let the paint have strong hold. To get a better output always clean before painting.

7) Sand-trim:

It is advisable to sand trim between the coats of the paint. This will provide you a better finishing since the smoothing is being done simultaneously with the painting allowing for a whole better result.

Now that you know many of the tips you can use them to your advantage but that is not it. In case you are feeling low or think that it would be a difficult job you can always contact the Akron Painting Company and we will be very happy to help.
