You have probably considered getting ready for the holiday seasons but you know that it is still summer and you don’t want to start thinking about one of the most stressful times of the year. That is completely normal but you don’t want to put things off until it is the night or even week before the holiday. This article will help you get some of the creative juices flowing without making you feel like you have to go and purchase everything today. Let us start with one of the most exciting items of the season, the christmas tree. This is an important part of the holidays and can make or break your holiday season. There is nothing worse than having a tree fall over, get knocked down or not fitting in your house.

Here are five items to consider when choosing the perfect christmas tree:

Size

There are a variety of options when it comes to purchasing a christmas tree. The most important thing is to consider how big you want the tree to be. Some people prefer to have small christmas trees that easily fit in the bedroom and can be moved from room to room. Other people prefer a 9ft christmas tree that is grand and beautiful and can be shown off at parties and gatherings. You also need to decide if you want a real tree or an artificial tree. Both options have their pros and cons, so do some research before you decide on a real or fake tree.

Where It’s Going

This may seem obvious but it can get easily overlooked with the rush and stress of the holiday season. First decide where you want to put the christmas tree. Will it be better to put in the living room or maybe in the front room where it can be seen by everyone who is passing by. The choice is up to you but know that the size of the room will factor into what christmas tree you buy. There are skinny christmas trees that can fit into a small room without taking up to much space. There are also larger christmas trees that can transform a whole entire room and give it a cozy and comfortable feel during the cold winter months.

Decorations

Now comes the best part of having a christmas tree, decorating. There are a variety of different ways to decorate a christmas tree and each way is unique and special. Ornaments can be extremely heavy and big or more on the light and petite side. Depending on what kind of statement you want to give will determine what ornaments you choose. Sometimes a tree can’t support heavy ornaments so you may have to be careful and tailor what ornaments you use to fit your christmas tree.

Type of Tree

Fake versus real. This has already been touched on in another section but it is important to understand the different kinds of trees you can purchase. Real trees come in different varieties and some may not be available where you live. Each tree can give a off a different scent and you don’t want your house smelling like a scent that you don’t find pleasant or appealing. Give yourself some time to smell the tree before purchasing it.

Lighting

This is another exciting part of getting a christmas tree: lighting. No christmas tree is complete without some kind of lighting or trimming. You can have small twinkling lights that illuminate the branches of the tree or you can go for big old fashioned lights that can light up the whole entire room. Lights come in a variety of colors, there are basic white lights and then there are packages that come with rotate between five different colors. Always remember to not leave the christmas tree lights on when you leave the house or keep them running for long amounts of time. This reduces the chance of a lightbulb exploding and starting a fire.
