One of the most important things that people tend to make while purchasing a new memory foam mattress is the lifespan of the matters. The specialty of the memory foam mattress is that these tend to stay longer than the other normal single mattress.

The Normal Life

1- The normal life for a king size memory foam mattress should be not less than 10 years.

2- This is only possible when the quality of the mattress is of high value.

3- But it is recommended to change your mattress after every 5 to 7 years, regardless of the fact that the mattress is a single mattress or double mattress.

Every Mattress Is Not Memory Foam Mattress

It is also important to notice here that every mattress is not a memory foam mattress. So, there is every possibility that the lifespan of the mattress may also be affected by this.

1- Foam mattress may well have high-density layering underneath of foam.

2- This layering may deteriorate faster than a memory foam single mattress.

3- Furthermore, less density may make the mattress less supportive for your comfort.

4- Resultantly, you might have to change the mattress quicker than the normal mattress.

5- This means that the life of your mattress has been decreased.

If Stays Beyond A Decade

1- It is observed that a good king size memory foam mattress may stay good even after 10 years.

2- It has got nothing to do with the normal wear and tear, but it is more of having hygienic issues.

3- After a decade or so, your memory foam mattress may absorb viruses and bacteria. These may come from the air directly or from the perspiration and sweat of your own body.

The Thickness

1- There is a simple rule for mattress life, the thicker the surface of the mattress is, and the longer the life of the mattress will be.

2- Similarly, the thinner memory foam mattress may lose its shape quicker than the normal single mattress.

3- If the memory foam mattress has spring celeste in its making, then the life of these types of mattresses will be different from the normal memory foam mattress. As there is a possibility that these spring may come off in a few months or may stay as long as you use them carefully.

The Warranties and Longevity

1- A mattress warranty is considered as indicative of its durability and longevity.

2- Well, there is always a case for a mattress when a company offers 5 years warranty about one mattress and 20 years of warranty about the other mattress.

3- Usually, the warranty of a memory foam single or double mattress is limited. It means that a portion or percentage of the coverage has been prorated or you may consider it that a certain feature of the mattress.

4- Warranties cover at 1” or maybe less, as you can say that impressions beyond this depth may affect your comfort up to some extent.

A good and reasonable time for a memory foam mattress is 10 years but you can increase or decrease the time. It depends upon the usage. If you tend to protect the mattress, there is a chance that it may stay longer but if you use it roughly, the time may be shortened.
