Why Buy A Vacation Home, Anyway?

While owning a vacation home is not for everyone, there are three reasons why buying a vacation home is a great investment:

• A vacation home is the only investment that allows you to relax and unwind, as well as entertain family and friends.
• It builds equity and wealth.
• A vacation home can be a rental revenue stream.

A vacation home is the only investment that allows you to relax and unwind, as well as entertain family and friends.

Buying a vacation home allows you to make an investment that offers both personal and financial rewards. It gives you something to look forward to after working so hard day after day. It’s where you can create wonderful memories with your family and friends. Not only that, but a vacation home is also a great legacy that your family will appreciate for many years.

It builds equity and wealth.

The average price of homes in big cities like San Francisco and Manhattan are at more than $1.2 million. No wonder many millennials are deciding to buy vacation homes before they purchase a home to be their primary residence. They want to enjoy all the upsides of owning property in a place where their money can go further while continuing to live in ever-pricier urban hubs. Aside from having a permanent excuse to go on vacation, it is also a potential home for retirement.

Owning a vacation home increases your financial status. Once you have completely paid off your home loan, you can use the property as collateral for future projects that require financing.

A vacation home can be a rental revenue stream.

Buying a vacation home and opting to rent it out can create a new, short-term rental revenue stream for you. This can help offset mortgage payments and augment the income you earn.
