The term house decoration almost exclusively means repainting your walls, buying new furniture, replacing carpets with parquetry, bringing in new designs into old spaces or repurposing rooms and turning them from unused bedrooms to home gyms. However, not everything has to be decorated indoors – there are literally countless ways you can do some home repairs outside as well. A lot of people with big gardens have a tendency to build a new pool or a small tennis court, depending on the space then are working with, and among interesting things you can to do to make your house more special and unique are outdoor wall decorations. If you are looking for some of these, here are a couple of suggestions you may find interesting.

Lights in a Jar

If you are in need of an outdoor lighting on your patio and in possession of a couple of Mason jars, some light bulbs, a bit of time and a touch of creativity – this is the project for you! Just imagine the amazement of your guests when they see a light coming out of a jar, surrounded by a dozen of the same kind, all creating homey environment and an atmosphere that cannot be reached by any other kind of electric lighting. All you need to do is insert a bulb in a jar, let it hang upside down and attach the end of the wire onto the electric network, and you will have a working light fixture that is unlike any other. Also, you can even make these lights glow in the dark and bring your wall decoration to the next level.

Nature in a Nutshell

Some people prefer nature over the urban environment and therefore try to incorporate it in the houses as much as possible – there are not that many options, but some can be found. One of these popular choices is a green wall, a concept that has been present globally for over sever decades. In short, this is sort of a vertical garden with all the necessary items, such as soil, watering system and, of course, the vegetation, included. This is a practical solution for those who enjoy a green environment surrounding their patios and this type of wall will surely increase their outdoor experience.

Flower Wall

People with small gardens cannot have lots of flowers and an option to show their gardening skills on a larger scale. Therefore, what they can do is combine something they have – a large outdoor wall – with something they enjoy doing – nurturing flowers. The easiest way to do this is build some flower planters and mount them on the wall, and if you really want to be extra-creative, these planters can be built out of old wooden pallets. This will complete the looks and give your project an additional value. These planters can hold flowers and even bonsai trees in pots, or you can plant some herbs to use in your daily cooking.

The Choices

When you live in a house with a big garden, the options for decorating and improving are limitless and it all comes down to your budgeting and creativity. No matter which exterior wall design you choose – and there are plenty more available: rustic decorations, Sun clock, murals, birdcages, water walls, etc. – your house will become more unique and you will feel better about it.
