5 Useful Apps for Real Estate Professionals

Written by Posted On Friday, 18 March 2016 08:33

There are not many industries that haven’t been disrupted by the development of innovative apps. Some support the system from the sidelines, while others find a home right in the center, like the numerous apps out there that can make the life of a real estate agent that much easier. Thanks to skilled app developers, many real estate professionals have been leveraging social media and the burst in the adoption of mobile device to revolutionize the real estate industry.

And these apps are useful not just for agents. They're also useful for brokers, buyers, sellers, homeowners, even investors — anyone involved in real estate. Don’t leave home (or sell one) without them!

1. Google Maps

Google Maps is a must-have for every real estate agent. When clients are ready to visit a list of potential properties, Google Maps is an indispensable tool in your pocket, guiding you to the next address.

It is available on the web, Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The price? It's free.

2. Lovely

Lovely is another good real estate app with a modern design. The location-based app makes it easy to find places nearby. Store your preferences and set alerts so you know the minute something new hits the market.

Once you've identified some places to live, users can save them to their "favorites," for future reference. Lovely is also available via the web, so you can set up an account and you can access them from your computer. View those kitchen photos on a larger screen.

Lovely is also good for pet lovers, by giving the option to see if your pet would be welcome in your new digs, by selecting "dogs ok" or "cats ok." Don't forget about Fluffy!

This free app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, but requires iOS 5.0 or later.

3. Mortgage Calculator

Mortgage Calculator is an easy-to-use tool that helps you understand the repayment requirements a mortgage will require. Mortgage Calculator factors in a number of important parameters to provide the most accurate results, and tells you what your monthly or bi-weekly mortgage payments will be as well as your future payoff date.

It’s available on the web and it’s free.

4. Zillow

Zillow is a multi-use platform, mainly used for property search. With a number of robust search filters and extra features (mortgage calculators, access to “hidden” inventory, property estimates), the site offers a good overview of the real estate market and available properties. Many listings include MLS  numbers in order to facilitate your search.

It’s available on the web, Android, iOS, and it’s free.

5. DropBox

Dropbox is a simple way to store documents in the cloud and have them accessible from anywhere. As a cloud storage solution that works on pretty much any device one can imagine, it allows you to have your client folders in order and handy whenever needed. You can even share them with clients, lawyers, and other collaborators.

It’s available on the web, Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, and it’s free.
