What to Pack Last before Moving

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 02 August 2016 11:16

If you are going to move soon, you probably have a lot on your shoulders. However, every relocation can be less stressful if it is done according to a strict plan. In the following lines we will share 5 categories of items that you should pack last. These belongings are the ones you will need during the last hours at your old place and the first moments at the new one.

  • Connecting devices – phone charger, laptop charger, portable phone power banks – those are all items that you’ll need until your last day at your old house. In addition, you’ll most certainly need to check something on your laptop every couple of minutes. That is why I recommend not to pack it until the very last moment.

  • Bedding – every professional man and van company will advice you that you should leave a box for towels, blankets, sheets, and few extra clothes. There you can also put the toiletries you used until the very last moment. Keep in mind that the towels shouldn’t be wet, because you might have mildew problems afterwards.

  • Snacks – during the actual move, you’ll have so many things on your shoulders that normal meal will be an impossible and time-consuming luxury. That’s why you need to have a bag with food and drinks. If you have kids, it’s a good idea to prepare something they’ll love to eat. Moving is a stressful process for them, and a little surprise won’t be a bad idea at all!

  • Cleaning materials – having a couple of trash bags is always a good idea. Especially during the last day of your move. In addition, be prepared for everything! You might find your new place to be a bit messier than you’ve thought. That is why having some cleaning materials at your disposal might prove to be very handy.

  • Basic tools – this category includes a variety of things, from a screwdriver and a hammer to first-aid kit and a torch. It’s a good idea to make a list with items that you’ll probably need until your last day at the old house and during the first day at the new place. Here are a few ideas: sticking plasters and other first-aid medical supplies, pocket knife, duct tape, address/phone book, set of tools including a hammer, a screwdriver, tape measure and other things you might require.

The one thing you need to remember when relocating is that everything can go properly and without any stressful moments. You just have to make a detailed plan, follow it, and leave the rest to the company that provides you with removals service in London. It’s that simple!
