What Home Improvements Attract Buyers?

Selling a home is not as simple as sticking a “For Sale” sign in your yard.

In today’s competitive real estate market, if you wish to sell your Candlewood Lake Home relatively fast, there are some things you can do.

One of the must-do’s prior to selling your home is home improvements.

Home improvements can sell your house faster, and it can even raise the value of your home.

They can range from simple DIY ones that have minimal cost to major renovation jobs that can be expensive.

The choice is yours.

The benefit of consulting with me before any home improvements.

But before actually jumping in and doing any actual home improvements, I suggest you consult with a real estate agent like me, Deborah Laemmerhirt.

Why?

We would not want you to overspend on home improvements that may not be even worth it.

Not all improvements can make your home more appealing.

Super expensive renovations do not always bring you a return on your investment, making it more difficult to sell. Also, you need to consider the value of your home, the value of your neighboring homes and the market trend in your area.

By consulting with me, I can help you decide which home renovations are worth it for your home and location.

What home improvements can you do to make your Candlewood Lake Home more appealing to buyers?

  1. Improve your kitchen.

Buyers love a modern and efficient kitchen. If your kitchen is outdated, you may need to upgrade it. It need not be a granite counter top, any stone counter top would do.

Check to see if your kitchen floor needs replacing.

What condition are your kitchen cabinets in? Are they in need of replacing?

Make sure your kitchen is clean. If you cannot afford to install new cabinets, at least repaint them.

  1. Home maintenance.

Check if there are areas in your home which need to be fixed or replaced.

Maybe there are roof tiles that must be changed. Maybe water is leaking into your home from up your foundation and must be fixed right away.

You may love the marks on your walls, but buyers prefer newly painted walls and ceilings.

Remember, for buyers it is important to have a well-maintained home with sound structure than a home with luxurious kitchen and leaking basement.

  1. Spruce up your front lawn.

A beautiful and well-maintained lawn is more inviting than a yard of dried grass. If you want buyers to be interested in actually stepping in your home, you have to improve your home’s curb appeal.

Make time to edge the lawn, plant flowers and put in new furniture on the front porch to make it more welcoming.

  1. Update the lighting.

Well-lighted homes sell easier and faster than homes that look dark and dim. Check if your home’s lighting is improving the look of your home.

Also, check if your lighting fixtures are new and modern-looking.
