Historic Carriage House Hits the Market in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 16, 2017) – A historic home on the largest available lot in the Historic District has just hit the market for $1.199 million. The residence is known as the Harry R. England House and is rumored to be a former carriage house associated with the John Brice lll House nearby, which would date the property to the mid-1700s. Historical evidence is limited and records most reliably date the home to the 1930s.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Travis Gray of the company’s Annapolis Church office has the listing at 203 Prince George Street.

The home is situated on a .36-acre lot, the largest tract of residential land currently listed in the Historic District. The Colonial Revival-style home was constructed for Harry R England as rental property and remained a rental site for years after. Many of the homes original details remain today.

Additional property details include:

  • Four bedrooms, three bathrooms and one partial bathroom with 3,500-square-feet of living space
  • Two fireplaces
  • Hardwood floors in main living areas
  • Spacious master suite
  • Kitchen with a butler’s pantry
  • Brick-lined outdoor entertaining space

QUOTE:

“It’s extremely rare to find a lot this large in the historic district,” said Travis Gray. “The home fits in very well in the neighborhood but has its own historical charm to add to the district.”
