Question: We are selling our home and the broker prefers that we are not present during open houses. Why is this?
Answer: Both your and the broker wish to market the property for the best possible price and terms. It is possible that a buyer will simply say, "I'll take it," and agree to all your requirements, but a more likely scenario is that both sides will have various issues to negotiate. Thus, the broker wants to have the best possible negotiating position and to do this he or she will want to be the sole bargainer.
