Cendant Mobility has 138 employees serving as mentors for the Danbury Schools and Business Collaborative Mentor Program (DSABC) this year, representing 25% of the total participation in the program. To recognize these individuals and the students participating in the program, Cendant Mobility held a luncheon honoring their involvement on Wednesday, December 9th. The ceremony was attended by Timothy Connors, Superintendent of Schools for the City of Danbury and many of the participating mentors and students. Speaking on behalf of Cendant Mobility was Scott Russell, senior vice president of human resources. The DSABC matches a Cendant Mobility employee with an elementary, middle or high school student who can benefit from a one-on-one relationship. The mentor integrates the students’ schedule into their own weekly schedule, which usually calls for sacrificing time early in the morning or during their lunch hour, for a minimum of one school year. The objective of the program is to improve academic performance, attendance, behavior, and attitudes toward school and self-esteem. Cendant Mobility has been a participant in the DSABC since 1991. |
