Rod Stewart Adding 4,000 SF to 21,000-SF Home
by Ann Rusterby

There's never a dull moment in Beverly Hills, where the big houses just keep on getting bigger.

In their efforts to prove that blondes have more fun, aging singer Rod Stewart and his much younger wife, Rachel Hunter, are building a major addition to their mere 21,000 square-foot home, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The first step came in 1992, when Stewart built the Georgian structure on two acres. But the couple must want to live in a place as large as a downtown train depot, because the 4,000 square-foot addition will include a 1,000 square-foot screening room and three new bedrooms. (There will be plenty of room for Maggie to spend the night, as the house will now include a total of seven bedrooms plus a master suite.)

The family must not wear the stress well -- they are making an Atlantic crossing to spend the holidays in England.

And, ooh la la, you should see the 15,000 square-foot mansion the couple owns there. They recently paid $4 million for the home, which includes 15 bedrooms, is on 50 acres and was built in 1877.
