Free Internet Tools for REALTORS
by Blanche Evans

The following is a short list of fun, free tools that will help you in your real estate business to save time and make more money using the Internet.

1. ePower Newsletter - Sign up for Michael Russer's Internet-content-heavy newsletter at this email address: news@lists.epowernews.com. Also see www.russer.com.

2. TalkSender.com - Send email messages in your own voice. For those who hate to type but love the convenience and speed of email messaging, TalkSender works with Outlook Express, Hotmail, Netscape, Eudora, Yahoo! Mail and AOL among others. It's free and takes only one minute to download. No setup or configuration required and your recipient doesn't require any special software to open it. See www.talksender.com.

3. Hotsend - Free, easily downloadable software that allows you to send and receive any document so that it will arrive looking exactly as you sent it. Because some email programs aren't written in the same "language," they can transpose symbols and letters, making your contract look like an amateur typed it. Get it there cleanly, and give up faxing copies of a fax of a fax of a fax. See www.hotsend.com.

4. RealTalk - RealTalk is a free listserv that you can join that enables Realtors to share marketing and online tips, vent their rage at crummy service providers, and pass other good information along. While you’re there check out good prices on domain names and hosting. To join, email RealTalk@InternetCrusade.com. See www.internetcrusade.com.

5. Property.com - Click on dealmaking news groups and find your area of interest as well as some lively posts in commercial real estate, finance, residential sales, and more. You’ll find well over one hundred pages of posts from top agents discussing every topic from agency relationships to the validity of having open houses. See www.property.com.

6. The Brain ® - Download this free software for up to 100 files, and find a fun, new way to share information in a visual style that is perfectly understandable for technophobes. The information all relates to each other through "thoughts" that reach out to each other like a space-aged geneology. It is fun to create "brains" for customers and their children to show them fun links on the Web. See www.thebrain.com.

7. AgentPlus(tm) Web sites - Until June 30, you can get a free Web site at Realestate.com, a big, Realtor-friendly portal for real estate consumers. What's cool about it is that it is the only site that partners with Realtor.com to allow agents to publish Realtor.com listings on their Web sites. Prices will range about $20 a month after July 1, but that will include hosting fees, and other services. See www.realestate.com.

8. Real Estate Update - Realty Times/Agent News' free online newsletter for Realtors lets you stay in email contact your customers monthly with the latest news and tips for buyers and sellers. Written by over 20 of the nation's top real estate writers, Real Estate Update has something for everyone. Go Here to subscribe.

Driveway - Store, share and access your files anytime from any Web-enabled computer. Save your files directly to Driveway by using the Web Folders feature. You can even control who has read only or read/write access. Get organized! Go here
