Responding to the needs of families that sustained a loss of family member as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the REALTORS(r) Housing Relief Fund has provided assistance to 450 families across the country so far with aid totaling more than $2.75m. 213 NJ families have received aid totaling $1,250,273 to date. The fund has received donations and grants from both inside and outside the REALTOR(r) community totaling more than $6.25m. Those that have sustained a loss of family member may obtain financial assistance for mortgage, rent, condo or co-op payments by applying to the REALTORS(r) Housing Relief Fund form by calling (866) 412-6035 or by visiting the public area of the New Jersey Association of REALTORS(r) (NJAR), http://njar.com. Fax or mail the completed form to the address indicated on page 3 for prompt processing. Residents of other states may apply by mailing the application to the Association of REALTORS(r) in their home state. Details will be found on the application. NJAR President Timothy J. Richards has been an avid supporter of the program since its inception. "NJAR's volunteers and staffers have done an incredible job. The individuals involved with the aid recipients extend themselves on the level of family. There is a lot to be said about the level of personal attention and understanding that weaves its way into every conversation," he said. |
