Irondequoit, New York Offers Many Amenities, Say Local Realtors
by Blanche Evans

Irondequoit is a well-established, closely-knit community, say local Realtors, with plenty to offer residents.

"Irondequoit is where 'the land and waters meet,'" says Realtor Keith C. Hiscock."Irondequoit offers every amenity imaginable including beautiful parks, shopping, great schools, golf courses, two bodies of water - that being Lake Ontario and the Irondequoit Bay conducive to the water sport enthusiast!"

"Reasonably priced homes from $50,000 to new homes upwards of $200,000 is what you will also find here," he explains. "Community events include a yearly Octoberfest, community band concerts, weekly farmers market, 4th of July celebrations, Memorial Day parade, to name a few. The development of the Bayfront area along with the development of the Lake Ontario shoreline and the 'Fast Ferry' to Toronto project are ongoing and add to the desirability of this community."

Says Realtor Arthur Tuite, "This long-established community bordering Lake Ontario has experienced renewed attention the past few years. Homes are selling at a brisk pace."

Tuite describes other nearby communities.

"Penfield is growing in population and popularity," he says. "There are homes available at all price points. Rising interest rates appear to be slowing things down a little."

"In Pittsford, low inventory with historic low interest rates has created an "interestingly volatile market," says Tuite. "Rising interest rates are having a small effect so far. Homes priced aggressively sell very quickly."
