I've found a much better way that will check Altavista, Infoseek, Lycos, and AOL simultaneously to see how many other sites link to yours. It's called Link Popularity Check, a free service from the same search engine positioning experts that developed Webposition Gold -- the industry's pre-eminent search engine positioning software. This great service has some incredibly useful benefits: Improving your "strategic linking" (a more focused and refined form of link popularity) is one of the most powerful and sure ways to drive highly qualified traffic to your site. And Link Popularity Check is the best tool I know of to measure your progress! And while we're on the topic of links... Having broken links on your site is, at best, a professional embarrassment and could mean potential lost business. However, the process of finding them yourself (before your visitors do) can be very tedious, especially if you have a large site. The fastest, easiest, most comprehensive tool I've found to handle this task is call Xenu Link Sleuth™ and can be found at HomeSnafu. Amazingly, this powerful utility is free and downloads and installs in just minutes. It will even work on database driven sites (i.e. template sites) -- which was confirmed when I ran it on my main (ColdFusion-driven) www.russer.com site and found more bad links than I care to admit. Now you have no excuse not to check your site's link popularity and integrity -- JFDI (Just focus and do it!) |
