Ardie Hawkins, our market expert for Southwest Missouri and North Central Arkansas, says there are some tremendous opportunities in the residential market right now. The opening of the Branson Landing and Branson Convention Center, as well as the soon-to-open Regional Airport, continues to spur an influx of young professionals looking for vacation homes. Look for a somewhat soft market through the summer, Hawkins says, with market conditions stabilizing towards the end of year and into 2009. The bright spot for this market is that land values seem to be exempt from the ups and downs since 2005; continued demand continues to push land prices steadily upwards. And she thinks that once the presidential elections are over and the country gets back on its feet economically people should return to responsibly investing in the safe and reliable real estate market.
