As we peer into the final months of 2009, we start hearing the forecasts already for 2010. The look for job growth is always an indicator to watch when looking at growth ahead. Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada is one of the lucky markets that will see at least a period of growth because of the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics. RentfortheGames.com, is a site set up for the renting of condo units throughout the city in preparation for the throngs of tourists coming to town for the Olympic Games. The site has definitely set itself up in the technology field, the website is only one part of its hi-tech outreach. They’ve also implementedFacebook (of course) and Skype for those using voice over internet protocols. Viewing through the listings, it appears that some of the property owners may be hoping for a lottery-like winning with they’re proposed rents. Just like those who wanted to charge $10,000 per week for a stay in Washington, D.C. for the Obama inauguration (and didn’t get it), rent requests are huge in Vancouver, but some are also reasonable. At least for the time being, Vancouver should be a hot rental market for current homeowners and for new condos coming on the market. |
