Why Aren't Listings Posted Instantly to the Internet? |
I don't know about you Nora but I've been singing since 1994 when I was one of the first Tennessee agents on the Internet. That was back when some unknown lady named Becky Swann started up The Internet Real Estate directory now http://www.ired.com/ . I was on Peter Miller's (http://www.ourbroker.com/) Real Estate Board of Advisors for America OnLIne and afterwards became the moderator for www.homescout's real estate question and answer forum.
I was President of the Knoxville, Tennesee Area Association of Realtors in 1996, that year we signed on to Realtor.com and CyberHomes.com
I've sung, preached, taught, bragged, and talked, My throat is sore from all the singing, I'm just going to get an extra wheelbarrow to carry my commissions from Internet buyers and sellers to the bank. Approximately 40% of my business comes from there now and it's VERY good quality buyers and sellers, people that expect professionalism and appreciate it, my kind of folks.
The two most common "reasons" I hear from other agents about why they don't do something about an internet presence are; "It's too expensive" and "I could never learn all that computer stuff".
I'm getting off the soapbox now my throat is acting up again. ;-)
