Good afternoon. I was just forwarded your article about REALTOR safety
by another member of the Michigan Executive Officers Council.
After reading it, I thought you might be interested in knowing that our
local northern Michigan television station, TV 9 and 10, will be airing
a story on agent safety based on an unsolved murder in our area that
took place in September of 1984. The "wanted" poster still hangs in the
local state police posts boards and in our board office. Vena Sue
Classon went to show property in a rural area of Osceola county and was
found murdered at the property she was to show. We use this information
as part of our New Member Orientation presentation to new members when
discussing safety for them. It helps drive home the fact that while
this is not a routine problem, that safety should always be in the back
of their minds. It isn't just something that only happens in big cities
or "somewhere else."
