Realtor.com (Homestore) pays the MLS's $1 per listing (or average # of listings, depending on the program) and/or shares in the ad revenue generated from the listings (see Realtor.com Extends the Carrot to MLSs ... Will Microsoft Up the Ante?). Agents benefit through (theoretically) lower MLS fees and by giving their listings massive exposure.
