Why News Editors Don't Honor The Realtor Trademark |
I don't know the status of Mr. Barry's litigation yet since it takes a while for a decision to be made.
But rest assure that if NAR to have a favorite outcome, it will be all over the real estate news.
I do run my own survey on the "Realtor" name like:
Do you consider the word "Realtor" as:
1. Identifying a real estate professional who is a Member of the National Association of REALTORS®
2. Being a generic term meaning a real estate professional.
I am running it here: http://lb.bcentral.com/ex/manage/subscriberprefs.aspx?customerid=13396
On about 255 active subscribers on my mailing list today, the survey says:
143 people consider it being a generic term as opposed to 112 people that for them, it identify a member of the NAR.
I didn't hear from NAR for over a year now. However, I am waiting for NAR's legal action to commence so I can countersue them with the best legal team in this country, defending me.
