Should Buyer's Present Offers Directly to Sellers?

confidentiality at risk?

I find it quite interesting that it is typical to fax an offer to a listing agent. Unless that agent has a private fax number at home, the offer that is being presented becomes very public to anyone who may be standing around the fax machine with an interest in that property. I have been asked to fax offers to agents in the past and simply refused to based on that alone. Especially if it is in a hot market! The one and only time that I faxed something was to an agents home while her seller's were out of state. Is there not a worry of this contract to purchase being intercepted or seen by another agent? Are you doing round table closings where you are from?
