Why do I get a sence that organized real estate has lobbied extensively to bring about this change and reverting back to not only buyer beware but consumer beware as well. This legislation is designed to protect the status quo in the real estate industry. The State Lesgilature have squirmed around seeking a means to go around, under or over the common law of agency, forgetting that a rose by any other name is still a rose. If a consumer is not assured protection of his or her interest by a realtor, then that realtor's fee should reflect exactly what his services are worth, if I as a consumer cannot depend upon or trust his or her services, then why would I consider dealing with them. If they are outside the Law of Agency then they are Outlaws, plain and simple.
