Monopoly

At least Blanche verified publicly one fact for all of us. That is that Homestore has a monopoly on the virtual tour busines via the control of the agent's data and their lock, stock and barrell ownership of iPIX's only valued asset.
Perhaps this should be the beginning of a new investigation regarding the tactics employed by Homestore to control EVERY aspect of an agent's and broker's technical and Internet marketing dollar. I would like to see the other portals get together, (Homeadvisor, Homeseekers, Homes, et al) and provide an easy mechanism for competiting virtual tour providers to aggregate either the content or link to competing virtual tours. I know they will recognize as realestate.yahoo.com has, that additional content is golden. I have always marveled at the fact that Homestore has a magical ability to not only gather valuable content, but to actually charge for the privelege of taking it from people, iPIX and Bamboo both made that mistake early on and I can't help but think it went a long way toward their impending demise.
