Response To: Why Attorney David Barry Is Challenging The NAR's Servicemarks (Blanche Evans - 02/06/2002)

Good Grief! (with apologies to Charlie Brown)
Posted By: Jim Lee - 02/06/2002 07:59 AM

Aren't there enought ambulances in San Francisco to keep this bozo busy??

NAR dues are $84 per year, my state association dues are $70, and my local dues are $101 which adds up to $255 per year.

For that sum I get to call myself a REALTOR, take advantage of my local association's education classes which offer enough free classes each year for me to satisfy my CE requirements for mainaining my license, operate a grievance procedure to keep everyone on the straight and narrow, operate a political action committee which keeps me in business through championing real estate friendly legislation, and no least, operate an MLS system that provides me with inventory to sell. Additionally there are too many other benefits to belonging to REALTOR organizations like CRS, ABR, ETC to list here.

Plus membership is VOLUNTARY, if you don't want to be a REALTOR then don't be but if you choose not to be then who looks out for your interests???

San Francisco lawyers??

No thanks.
