Are Homestore and The NAR Working Toward a National MLS?

Dear Sheriff, can't have it both ways.

Our board has just moved to an Internet based MLS. In all the years of working with computers and serving on the MLS, this move is costing our user members both time and money. Nothing is faster than having a computer program on your local hard drive. Browser based software is slow. But with NAR moving toward a nationwide MLS, local boards are being directed toward Internet databases. Eventually, individual brokerages will be a thing of the past. As decisions move from the local level toward NAR, only the larger players will have anything to say about our role as users of an MLS...franchises will have plenty to say. To be "Happy" with NAR, yet not so pleased with their centralized business goals is contradictory. You can't have it both ways.
