Visual Tour is not actually a virtual tour provider. They have a self service program that allows agents to take their own photos and include them in a self running window with text descriptions. The "virutal tour" part is actually an off the shelf stitching program from MGI Software that allows agents to "attempt" to stitch together a panoramic image. Because the agents ususally do a poor job of taking the phot and do so without tripods and with cheap consumer grade digital cameras, they (Visual Tour) suggest to the agent they do only 180 degrees of the view in most instances. They are NOT a virtual tour provider in the sense that an actual quality panoramic tour of the home is created.
It is for the agent that cannot afford to enhance their listings, knows little about the use of software or the web or chooses to take a cheap route to appease their clients.
Dont get me wrong, the product has its place in the market and it sure as hell should be able to be included as a link on an agents listing in Realtor.Com. But it is not a real Virtual Tour as they have come to be known over the years and should not be included in the same league as a professional Virtual Tour. There are any number of professional VT providers in many, many markets. Some of which provide superior quality service to iPIX tours.
