What gives, Wells Fargo?
Posted By: C21BrianMc - 08/30/2000 02:29 PM

After reading the Wells Fargo "Top 10" list, I quickly recalled the 2 most forgetable transactions I was involved in this year. Ironically, both involved Wells Fargo as the lender.

I'm sure there are a proportional number of competent, professional mortgage officers with Wells Fargo. After my experiences this year, it would be easy to suspect the opposite. The 2 idiots I dealt with this year have absolutely no business being in the business.

I also wonder if Wells Fargo is now confident that they can maintain they're market share without referals from real estate agents. I've used the same mortgage broker for over 8 years now and send him a ton of business. He never fails to get me to the closing table and I know he values our professional relationship. I consider him a valuable business partner and I know he gets most of his clients from agent referals as well as a lot of satisfied, repeat customers.

I hope Wells Fargo will provide a retraction or some clarification as to why they authorized this content to be displayed on their site. I'd bet a lot of other ethical, professional and committed real estate agents from around the country (who may very well be in states where the agency laws are quite different than they've been represented in the Wells Fargo "Top 10") would like to see the same once they read that baloney.
