Circle of Homestore Sites Adds Value to Consumer and Agents, Says Realtor.com
(Blanche Evans - 11/26/1999)

It was a timing issue.

I just got off the phone with Karen Fulton with HomeStore and Scott Riegel, vice president of real estate services for Homefair.com. They assured me that the changes were made. The problem appears to be that when Jim first did his investigation, it was on the 16th, so the request for more information was already in the que. When Homefair/Realtor.com responded to the problem, they took action on the 17th and 18th, according to Fulton.
So it appears to be a timing issue. Both Fulton and Riegel assured me that the lead direction from Realtor.com will not be passed on to Homefair agent participants.
Here is Fulton's quote. "Our changes to the system, those changes were made on the 17th and 18th. Jim Lee sent in his request on the 16th. His request was in process prior to our making these changes. Scott spoke with him directly. It was a timing issue. We recognized that there was a problem, and took action to correct it. Realtor.com was sensitive to the coments made within the industry. There was never any intent to pose a conflict, so as soon as we were notified we made the changes, but it took several days to get that accomplished."
Hope this clears up the problem.
