Fighting the battle of misinformation.

Although the Internet is a wonderful tool, viewers should take all information with a grain of salt and check with a local professional to find out the real truth. This article is just another example of misinformation promoted on the Internet.
In Indiana, all agents working with a buyer are considered, by law, to be buyer agents unless otherwise contracted. An agent who who sells their own listing must have the seller's and the buyer's written permission to work as a "limited agent". This limited agency limits what information can be disclosed about either party. In my experience, the majority of agents in our area do an excellent job of representing the buyer and take their fiduciary duty to the buyer very seriously. Many agents will suggest to the buyer that they obtain their own representation or refer a buyer for their own listing to another agent to ensure that all parties are represented equally. Fighting the battle of misinforamtion continues...
