Timing? It's time to stop it.

Response To: Circle of Homestore Sites Adds Value to Consumer and Agents, Says Realtor.com (Blanche Evans - 11/26/99)
It was a timing issue. Posted By: blanche - 02:02 PM Yesterday I just got off the phone with Karen Fulton with HomeStore and Scott Riegel, vice president of real estate services for Homefair.com. They assured me that the changes were made. The problem appears to be that when Jim first did his investigation, it was on the 16th, so the request for more information was already in the que. When Homefair/Realtor.com responded to the problem, they took action on the 17th and 18th, according to Fulton.
So it appears to be a timing issue. Both Fulton and Riegel assured me that the lead direction from Realtor.com will not be passed on to Homefair agent participants.
Here is Fulton's quote. "Our changes to the system, those changes were made on the 17th and 18th. Jim Lee sent in his request on the 16th. His request was in process prior to our making these changes."

That must be a heck of long que I'm in.
The e mail quoted below came today (December 1st).
Maybe we really shouldn't worry though.
After all if they get a lead on November16th and don't get around to following it up until December 1st we can already have the house listed and sell them another one before HomeFair/homeStore and their "network of preferred realtors" gets around to contacting them.
I'm breathing easier now.
The key thing to remember, and the whole problem I have, is that this all began from a link from one of my listings on Realtor.com.
If you're a Realtor these links are on your listings too.
"FREE CITY REPORTS" and "FREE SCHOOL REPORTS".
Follow them and see where they take you. Once a potantial customer gets into that maze of enticing links on HomeFair (free this, free that, Win $1,000) they will never find their way back to the Realtor's listing that the customer came to Realtor.com to see.
This stuff may be adding value to HomeStore/HomeFair but I say it's taking potential customers away from me and my fellow Realtors, and I say it's time to stop it.
