Homestore's recent agreement with Bank of America is further proof that the industry has lost control. It should be shocking to everyone that while on the one hand the NAR is fighting to keep banks out of the industry, Homestore not only enters into an agreement with the largest provider of mortgages but at one point had all the realtor listings on the Bank of America web site as well! I think Mr. Rector is right on with his comments and I think that the industry has to wake up to what is happening. Unfortunately, it very well might be too late. Homestore / Realtor.com may ultimately prove to be this industry's trojan horse.
