Response To: Realtor.com's I-LEAD XL Puts Lead Generation On The Line (Blanche Evans - 07/11/2001)

What is a lead?

Before we get too excited about i-LEAD? XL Agent, which is essentially the old iLEAD which was Agent SIMPLE maybe we need to make sure we're on the same page about what a lead actually is.

My definition of a lead is a warm body and their contact information where I can reach them and talk with them about buying or selling real estate now or in the near future and I can earn a commission check from that sale.

No other leads need apply. ;-)

I've heard HomeStore representatives that Xlerator has generated "hundreds of thousand of leads" and I question if these are really leads or just someone looking at Realtor.com who happened to check the little box that gave permission to disclose their search criteria maybe without even realizing what it was.

I hope i-LEAD? XL Agent but to me it looks like the same old stuff with more bells and whistle hung on along with a higher price tag.
