Hi --
It is asked, "How does the broker owning the "data" help me sell my home?"
Fair enough.
Consumers benefit when transaction costs do not rise as a result of data piracy; they benefit when their information is properly presented; they benefit when their data is not available to sites that discriminate; and they benefit when their property is sold and their data is removed from online sites.
One might also ask: How does a broker losing the right to data collected at enormous time and expense benefit clients? If it's okay to pirate the broker's work-product, what about your data -- after all, we do live in an information economy? If you're a purchaser and give financial information to a buyer broker, do you want that information all over the Internet?
All the best.
