Response To: How The Real Estate Industry Opened The Door For Fee-for-service (Blanche Evans - 05/05/2000)

The Leading Edge

As always Ms Evans you are on the leading edge of future developments in the industry. The consumer should be given the choice of the traditional contingent fees, block fees or lower cost non-contingent fees. Fees for services rendered is something a consumer can readily understand and the industry should distance itself from the "salesperson" designation which is reminiscent of a traditional salesperson out to sell anything to anyone in order to earn a commission. The industry should identify itself with the true agency concept and the fiduciary obligations attached thereto and move forward into the future.
