Before the mobs start storming Wells Fargo offices with flaming torches and ropes please read the e mail below I received in response to a note I sent to Wells Fargo from a link on the offending site.
I believe someone at Wells Fargo did drop the ball in not reading (or thinking through) the content of some outside material they used to fill up an online newsletter they distribute but I don't see any conspiracy to discredit or eliminate REALTORS.

Please accept our sincere apology for the SmartMoney.com article that we included in our WellsWire newsletter. By no means did we wish to cause confusion among our customers or insinuate that brokers do not work in the best interests of their clients. Rather we tried to include an article from an independent source that could facilitate the home buying process. In no way does this article represent the views of Wells Fargo.
We sent the newsletter and article to a small population of Online Banking customers; this article is not part of the permanent content on our site. Effective Thursday 8/24, the article was pulled from our email newsletters and will not run again.
At Wells Fargo, we value our partners and certaintly consider brokers to be part of that team. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us and are committed to serving your financial needs. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this newsletter may have caused.
