Presenting the Truth is NOT "Running Down"

Oklahoma,
Warning people of the conflicts which can arise when using agents who work for sellers or agents who reserve the right to transition into dual agents is telling the truth about very real--and avoidable--marketplace dangers.
Dangers which are virtually non-existent when using exclusive agency practitioners, be they exclusive for the buyer or exclusive--though admittedly much rarer to be found in nature--for the seller.
Your claims to being our source of inventory is rapidly losing value, as the internet begins to supplant your gatekeeper of information roles. In my marketplace, there is a VERY viable supplemental inventory source that can be viewed at http://www.fsbomadison.com .
For our trade area, this site contains a substantial amount of homes.
Your thought that without you, we wouldn't exist is preposterous. Our jobs would be harder, as the inventory would be spread out over more sources, but that only makes our services MORE valuable, as it is also harder for our prospective clients to find all available inventory when it is not centralized. With the right systems, we don't need you.
That said, I would much rather have you around, to spare me the effort.
Final note: Without buyers, what good is your inventory? It takes two to form an agreement, and your inventory is no more important than our clients. Oh yes...and I frequently suggest to clients that we offer less than they originally wanted to offer.
It all comes down to whether your business model is sales centered or service centered, with "agency" being synonymous with "service".
