After reading the article I am somewhat pacified but I think HomeStore should have done a better job in letting the Realtor community know the facts. When I look at one of my listings, find the "Free City Reports" link suddenly appearing at the bottom and following it to a form that offers to "Refer you to a qualified real estate professional" to sell your current home and help you find a new one in your destination city then being upset is a natural reaction. This "improvement" has caused a very unnecessary outcry from the Realtor community that could have been avoided by simply giving a little advance notice of what was going on. HomeStore seems to have no trouble e mailing Realtors when they want to sell something, they should follow the same policy when they want to implement something that affect us. NAR, our state associations, and in some cases even local, do a wonderful job for us for the most part but getting the word out has been sorely lacking for a long, long time.
