The bottom line is that with all the protections allegedly in place, buyers were able to purchase a home with 181 building code violations. And other buyers, as you can see from the letters which were posted, also did not get a whole lot of homebuyer protection.
The ads are bad, but the concept is worse. Let's let appraisers appraise and home inspectors inspect.
