Forbes.com Calls Real Estate Brokers Annoying

NAR Chides Forbes.com

I write concerning the current issue of Forbes.com Lifestyles and its unfortunate reference to "annoying real estate brokers."
At the National Association of Realtors we work hard to educate reporters and writers of all stripes about the real estate industry, real estate brokerage and Realtors. After all, real estate is a $1 trillion a year business and a linchpin of the national economy. It's in everybody's interest to get the facts right.
Facts are one thing, opinions are another. We're all entitled to our own and I guess if you buy ink by the barrel or write for a popular web site, you have the right to share your opinions with the world. Though we wish they did, we realize that not everyone who writes for the media thinks Realtors are as terrific as we do at NAR.
All we ask is a chance. Talk to us. Just why does Forbes.com think real estate brokers are annoying?
After all, when it comes to annoying, it's hard to beat a flippant remark in a media outlet.
Sincerely,
Steve Cook Vice President, Public Affairs National Associaton of Realtors
