It's a great place to raise kids, dogs, and horses! You can get a lot of property for your money, although the inventory has substantially decreased. In May 2008 there were more than 230 homes on the market for sale and in Dec 2008 there are only 151. 45 of these are foreclosures or short sales. Because the prices tend to be on the lower side, the greatest activity is being seen in first time buyers.
Appreciation will still happen because it's the last affordable place to buy coastal property in California. So...it's a great investment.
Location Characteristics: This town has a fabulous school system and a cute town. The weather is quite warm in the winter and very hot in the summer. You can get a lot of land with your house, though, so it's a great place to move if you want "horse" property, or just a lot of space for your children or dogs.
