Although the City of Burlingame is more expensive when compared to most of the surrounding cities, it is well worth it. This city is not only very friendly but it has an active community with good weather, excellent air quality, and convenient transportation.Burlingame Ave. has one of the most enjoyable downtowns in the county, with a delicious array of fine dining establishments,boutique shops and a few quality major establishments offering the most enjoyable shopping.
The average price of single family homes sold in the 1st qtr.was $1,492,000.The median priced sale was 1,336,000.The number of escrows closed was 27.The average number of days a home remained on the market was 37.The diff.between list vs. sales was -.1%The total volume sold was $82,085,418.

Approximate Location Boundaries: Burlingame is located in central San Mateo County on the San Francisco Peninsula south of the city of Millbrae. In addition, San Francisco is about a 20 minute drive and the international airport is nearby.

Location Characteristics: Burlingame is ideal for those who want to enjoy San Francisco and live in a beautiful little town that feels like a charming European village. Many homes have views and the area is known for many fine schools. It is also known as the 'City of Trees' due to the amount of trees within the city (about 18,000 public trees). In addition, the Bay Area Rapid Transit system has a terminal just north of Burlingame's border in Millbrae, a Pacific Ocean beach at Half Moon Bay is a mere 30-minute drive away, and without leaving town you can walk along the banks of San Francisco Bay, which is northeast of Burlingame. This is a historic town of first-rate restaurants, the finest shopping along Burlingame Avenue and Broadway, great schools, varied architecture and a rich history that goes back far into the 1800s.

With that said, the real estate market is influenced by numerous factors: including availability, mortgage rates, demand, and overall economy.
