October 2009 Colorado Springs home sale statistics show sales up 19.1% from October of 08, the 3rd double digit increase in a row over last year. Prices are still lagging a bit, with the average of $213,352 down 7.24% from '08 and also off the summer peaks. Selling prices averaged 97.7% of asking, the highest 'sell to list' ratio this year.
Interest rates are still in the low 5's (and even upper 4's some days!), and many new troops have arrived home at Fort Carson. The First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit has been extended to April 30 2010, and now there is even a tax credit for some prior homeowners. What a great time to buy!
