While localized market conditions within range of any one home can vary, overall in the greater Indianapolis area home prices are still depressed. Homes for sale are in many cases being relisted or having the current contract extended, and are going through multiple price reductions before they receive accepted offers. This remains a strong buyer's market with attractive home prices on both new and resale homes.
In Brownsburg, Indiana in particular, the average original list price of a home for sale in May, 2011 was $176,980. The average list price at the time an offer was made was $173,266. The average sale price was $167,092. In addition, those homes that actually sold last month did so in an average of 126 days.
