The Madison Valley is a very rural part of Montana, between Yellowstone National Park and Bozeman. Ennis is a small town of less than 1,000 residents but the valley has approximately 4,000. It is primarily a recreational area that draws sportsmen for top quality hunting and fly fishing on the world famous Madison River. So our market stays fairly strong. There are very few jobs and most of the income is passive. Home sales in the $200,000 to $400,000 range have been quite strong, but prices have come down significantly. Our office put 2 homes and one land parcel under contract in January, which is quite good for this time of year. Many Baby Boomers are headed for the Rocky Mountain Range and we are selling a certain, nostalgic "life style." We believe they will continue to come and our market should stabilize. 2010 was a huge improvement over 2009 and we expect 2011 to be even stronger.
