The convenient in-town location and fairly reasonable prices (low $300's to mid $500Ks) have made this area consistently desirable. Many of the homes have mountain views. Fenced and walled lots, courtyards and garages help provide a sense of privacy from house to house. This is generally considered a "good value" area for buyers, especially in light of all the new high-density construction underway further to the southwest.
Across the board, we're seeing evidence of more-eager sellers reducing asking prices -- sometimes considerably -- in order to procur a quicker sale. There is a lot of inventory, so it's a good time to be a buyer. If you decide to do so, please use a buyer's agent to protect your best interests.
