Halloween and another Daylight Savings season coming to an end - the year is really winding down! Now is the time for thinking and planning for 2010 and I am planning a great year for both my real estate business and my personal time. Hope your plans are exciting and inspiring and your year will be great as well.

Real Estate continues to be challanging for many sellers but for buyers there are lots of choices right now.. custom new home or older home with lots of character and comfort. There are new homes in numerous locations: pristine, executive housing developments; golf and country club locations; lovely new starter homes; magnificent homes on the Neuse River; country homes set in the woods... truly something for everyone! Also for buyers: Builders continue to offer generous incentives ranging from custom amenities at no additional fee to help toward buyer's closing costs - now is the time to jump on these extras!!

PLEASE NOTE: time is running out to claim the $8000 tax credit offered by our government to any buyer who has not owned a home in the past 3 years - (please call for details!). Also note that interest rates continue at very affordable levels and, contrary to the many media reports, there is mortgage money available!!

The last few years have seen significant growth here in Coastal North Carolina. Despite the number of people deployed to Iraq and and Afganistan, homeownership continues to be an important part of life here where families can enjoy a comfortable life despite their breadwinners' absence. We pray for them daily. In addition, more and more retirees are relocating to this part of North Carolina as they visit and fall in love with our quiet way of life.

All the following statistics are from the Neuse River Region Multiple Listing Service and are current as of September 30, 2009:
